Richard Smith Richard Smith is Of Counsel to our Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. He holds a degree in International Relations from the College of William & Mary and received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore. Prior to becoming Of Counsel, Mr. Smith worked as Senior Counsel for RULG for eight years, basing out of the D.C. office and working in the Kyiv office on special projects. Before that, he worked for several years in Russia, both in legal capacities and in business. His practice focuses on corporate, commercial, and labor law, and he also advises on international data protection and technology matters. Mr. Smith is fluent in both English and Russian, and has a working knowledge of Ukrainian, as well as Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Norwegian.
