Ms. Yelena Bychkova's areas of specialization are antitrust (antimonopoly), corporate and civil law. Before joining Aequitas in 2007, she was a chief specialist at the Division of Legal Support and Licensing of the Aerospace Committee of the RK Ministry of Energy, Industry, and Trade; a project administrator at the UN Office for Drugs Control and Crimes Prevention; and lectured on civil law and civil procedure at the Kazakh State University.
Ms. Bychkova has authored amendments to legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan regulating evidence law, forensic examination and other forms of special knowledge, as well as judicial and expert activities.
Ms. Bychkova has also authored a number of publications on civil procedure issues in local and foreign periodicals and wrote papers, monographs and manuals on special knowledge application in civil procedure.
She is a member of the Noncommercial Partnership Supporting Competition in the CIS, which was established on the initiative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation.
She graduated with honors from the Entrepreneurial Law Faculty of the Kazakh State Law University (1999) and took postgraduate courses at the Kazakh State Law University. The subject matter of her thesis was "Application of Special Knowledge in Civil Procedure of the Republic of Kazakhstan." Ms. Bychkova earned her Candidate of Laws degree in 2004.
