PRACTICE AREA:
Maitre Franklin is the senior partner of the law firm of Franklin & Franklin, which firm was established in 1925. The law firm is a general business law firm, including the areas of incorporation, immigration and commercial contracts.
He concentrates on cross-border and international commercial debt recovery. He represents Canadian and American creditors that have collection recovery issues in every province of Canada and worldwide. In fact, Me Franklin has just completed a book for Thomson/Carswell, entitled "International Commercial Debt Recovery".
EDUCATION:
David Franklin obtained his law degree from McGill University in 1959 and started practice in the firm of Franklin & Franklin, of which he is a senior member in 1960.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Maitre Franklin is co-Chairman of the law conference that will take place between the Barreau du Quebec and the All China Bar Association in October 2007 in China. Further information on this can be found on the Journal du Barreau website.
He has been a speaker on various creditor rights issues in at least twenty (20) countries. He is a frequent contributor on international creditor rights in various legal journals. He has been Chairman of International Law Conferences in China, England, Ireland and the Netherlands.
Since 1962, Maitre Franklin has been lecturing as Professional Adjunct at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University in Montreal, where he teaches various courses including Law for Not-for-Profit, International Business Law in the MBA program and International Business Law.
DIPLOMATIC POSITION:
Since July 1st, 2001, David Franklin has served as Honourary Consul of Iceland in Montreal.
